Weigh-in from yesterday

Posted by Dana on August 26, 2007

237.5/218/140

And I found out I can wear a 1x. When I started this thing I was in the twilight zone between 22 and 24. 22 was a bit uncomfy, 24 was a bit too baggy.

yay!

Weigh-in

Posted by Dana on August 18, 2007

237.5/220.5/140

I caught a cold from my daughter a couple of days ago and my appetite has been shot. I have also been, shall we say, shedding a lot of fluid, which may have come from taking Sudafed. No idea. The upshot is I seem to have lost four pounds this week, the loss actually taking place in the latter half of the week. I’m not sorry the four pounds are gone, although I’m a bit concerned they may creep back on when I’m feeling better.

It may also be coincidence and I may have just been due for another weight-loss jolt. Something that seems rather common among low-carbers is that we will lose a bunch of inches first and then all of a sudden our weight drops. That may be what happened here. Again, no idea. We’ll see what happens.

If the weight loss stays off I will be ecstatic to drop below 220, needless to say.

Weigh-in a day late

Posted by Dana on August 12, 2007

I’m still at 224.5 this week. I was going to weigh in yesterday but we were gearing up to go to the state fair and I kind of got distracted.

So it’s 237.5/224.5/140 for now.

However, I have a CamelBak-style backpack that I take with me on excursions such as fairs and festivals, and when I first started using it at 237 or more, I had to let out the waist strap all the way just to fasten it. Yesterday when I put it on, I had to tighten the straps again! That was awesome. I keep saying I need to do measurements again to get a true idea of my progress–although the weight progress has been fairly impressive so far–and I will probably get them done soon, maybe even today, but the episode with the backpack told me enough.

I still can’t see my feet without bending over, but I have a feeling that will change soon!

Weight loss stats in my first month

Posted by Dana on August 5, 2007

This is to give you an idea how fast weight loss can be during the Induction phase of Atkins. (For newbies: There are four phases of the Atkins diet. Induction, or Phase 1, is the strictest, allowing only 20g net carbs a day.) I stayed in Induction for about three weeks. Frankly, I’m still struggling with adding more carbs, but that’s another post.

I’s a dum Amurrikun so weights are Imperial, not metric.

July 1: 237.5

July 3: 232

July 7: 231

July 14: 228.5

July 21 (Last day of Induction): 226.5

July 28: 228 (I was building up to That Time Of The Month at this point, and had just discovered the hot dogs I liked to snack on had 4g of sugar apiece. Ouch!)

August 4: 224.5 (It’s That Time Of The Month and I guess I am tossing ballast. Yes. Ew.)

From here on out I will list my weigh-ins each Saturday, as I was doing on my LJ.
